We
use Operational Deflection Shape (MDS) analysis on structures
and piping using vibration amplitude and phase. From this technique
we can identify maximum and minimum stress locations for the
installation of strain gauges for example or to determine the
optimum location for bracing to increase stiffness if appropriate.
